The Dominionist Movement

"You say you're supposed to be nice to the
Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the
Methodists, and this and that and the other
thing. Nonsense! I don't have to be nice to
the spirit of the Antichrist."
-- Pat Robertson

Why is this man in the White House? The
majority of Americans did not vote for
him. Why is he there? And I tell you this
morning that he's in the White House because
God put him there for a time such as this: Lt
Gen William Boykin, speaking of G. W. Bush,
New York Times, 17 October 2003

The numbers that are germane here are the
numbers 737 and 132, because we now have 737
US military installations that the Pentagon
acknowledges that we have--it's actually
closer to 1,000--scattered around the world
as we garrison the globe in 132
countries. And in every one of these
installations, we have at least one, and some
cases we have several dozen, chapters of a
group called the Officers Christian
Fellowship for the officers. For the enlisted
folks it's called the Christian Military
Fellowship. Their main purpose is to have
Christian officers exercising biblical
leadership to raise up a "godly army"--their
words, not mine.

Jesus Made Me Puke : Rolling Stone

"When the word of God is in your mouth," he
said, "the demons can't come out of your
body. You have to keep a path clear for the
demon to come up through your throat. So
under no circumstances pray to God. You can't
have God in your mouth. You can cough, you
might even want to vomit, but don't pray."

Pat "Liquor Officer" Robertson

He seemed to have all the qualifications the
nation yearned for. In his autobiography he
had noted his superb academic achievements,
Phi Beta Kappa at Washington and Lee, a law
degree from Yale, and, having been "a Marine
combat officer in Korea."

A man who spoke with God and who had been a
Marine combat officer was a rare combination
indeed. Such a man might well be able to lead
the nation on to glory

According to the Bible, one can't
remarry, unless one is a widow and she should
marry...

...the deceased's brother.

Otherwise, remarriage is adultery. Thus, any fundy who is remarried is
an adulterer, by their book. And any fundy who attended a second
wedding celebrated adultery. By the Bible, McCain only has one wife:
his first. His second "wife" is his adultering mistress, as was Nancy
Reagan to Ronnie. Heck, the Bible asserts that contemplating adultery
is the same as committing adultery. Therefore, any married woman or
man who's swooned or pined for a Hollywood hunk or the pool boy or
Pamela Anderson is a profligate adulterer and deserving of stoning.

The Bible's gonna get us all killed.

Christian Reconstructionists Are Trying
to Take Dominion in America -- and They Have
Powerful Friends

Based in Powder Springs, Ga., American Vision
also produces reams of material that push
Christian Reconstructionism, a form of
fundamentalism that argues for a re-writing
of American history, dismantling secular
democracy and constructing an America
governed by "biblical law."
Reconstructionists seek to impose the
criminal code of the Old Testament, applying
the death penalty for homosexuals,
adulterers, fornicators, witches,
incorrigible juvenile delinquents and
those who spread false religions.

Bush, Mideast Wars and End-Time Prophecy

A potent example of the influence of end-time
Christians in the White House developed in
early May 2007 when the president invited
dominionist James Dobson and 12 or 13 other
"family value" ministers for a special
meeting. They were called in to discuss the
"disturbing threats Iraq, Iran and
international terrorism posed to US, Israel
and other democracies around the
world." Dobson is best known as the founder of
Focus on the Family, an end-time
lobby. Dobson opposes homosexual rights and
abortion, and advocates the "submission of
women." He has backed candidates who call for
the execution of abortion providers, and
works to establish an American theocracy.

Allow churches to include sanctuaries of

You had a steady rise in the importance of
Evangelical, fundamentalist and Pentecostal
denominations and membership. That was
especially so in the south, which was being
added into the Republican coalition. As you
added southern Evangelicals, fundamentalists
and Pentecostals into the Republican
coalition, you also added northern ethnic
Catholics. You were basically taking away
major religious concentrations within the
Democratic Party, and making the Democrats
much more secular and the Republicans much
more religious.

The Rise of the Religious
Right in the Republican Party
There are various rumors floating about that
there will be at least three Supreme Court
justices who will retire within the year. If
this happens, President Bush and the
Republican-controlled Senate will have their
freest hands in remaking the judiciary into
the conservative evangelical image, thus
reversing every major gain made by the
women's and civil rights movements over the
last fifty years.

We want to burn out all the recent immoral

burn out the poison of immorality which has
entered into our whole life and culture as a
result of liberal excess during the past few

At its root, Reconstructionism is a militant
Biblicism. In many ways, it is a revival of
the holy war theology of the Hebrew Bible
under the guise of Christianity. The chief
difference being that Reconstructionists
believe they have a mandate to claim more
than the land of Palestine, they believe they
are commanded to conquer the entire world and
exercise “dominion” over all its
peoples. That is why Reconstructionism is
also known as “dominion theology.”
